How AI will impact the industry in 2023
December is here, so you know what it means. Holidays, new year resolutions, and a whole series of technological predictions. We decided to focus on a trend that matters most to it: Leadersconcrete Artificial Intelligence Artificial intelligence insights for your team and business.
The potential impacts of ai are wide, as are the related predictions on everything from sendient ai to generative and responsible ai to collaboration and automation. What will matter to IT leaders in 2023? We talked to the Ai and It career experts to ask them what they think.
’’ Diego Bartolome at the Octo says machine learning will help correct ai bias. In conversational ai systems that know the customer by using information about that person will also reduce bias.
And this is just the beginning. Lets take a look at other major trends.
Ctos will be particularly interested in Ai specifics.
A Cto should provide technology that improves healthcare providers’ services and processes. After all providers want physicians to focus on health and not technology. Ctos shouldn’t buy Ai because it’s a new technology. Instead, Ctos should think about the potential opportunities that Ai offers. How will it work in their particular organization? How Will it improve business processes? It’s crucial. Previously you could say we are implementing Ai or digital transformation and get a blank check but that won’t work anymore. Organizations want to see results and need to be able to measure the impact. A Cto cant just say Ai is the future and have any budget they want. The rubber will hit the road in 2023.

impacts of Ai technology.
Ai will be very helpful in treating medical conditions in the next few years. Take a look at David Baker who won the breakthrough prize in 2021. Dr. Baker used Ai to create entirely new proteins. This groundbreaking technology will continue to have enormous ramifications in life sciences, potentially developing life-saving medical treatments for diseases like Parkinsons and Alzheimer’s.
Watch the crossover from basic physics to informatics under the guise of quantum and quantum-inspired computing. While I’m not holding my breath for a practical quantum computer, we’re expecting crossover. One of the more intriguing examples is Andy Briggs Quantrolox, where artificial intelligence is being used to tune quantum computers.
Mixing advanced mathematics with informatics will bring a new generation of engineers uniquely placed to exploit the ai wave.

At the Crossroads between human intelligence and artificial intelligence.
Although Ai is growing in its adoption at scale, it will be balanced with appropriate human intervention. Humans using Ai insights will be a more effective combination overall than any one on its own. How and where this balance is struck will depend on industry and the criticality of the function to be performed. For example, radiologists assisted by Ai can screen more for breast cancer than they can if they work alone. In the hands of a doctor, that same Ai produces more accurate results than it does when operating independently.

Responsible and generative Ai capabilities are advancing.
In 2023, we can expect to see a few major ai trends and two to watch are generative ai and responsible ai. Responsible or ethical Ai is a hot-button topic for some time, but the idea is about to move from idea to practice next year. Smarter technology and new legal frameworks around Ai are also steps in the right direction. The Ai Act, for example, is a proposed first-of-its-kind European law whose main purpose is to regulate the risk of using Ai in use cases. Similar to Gdpr, the Ai Act could become a baseline standard for responsible Ai and aims to become law next spring. This will have an impact on companies using artificial intelligence worldwide.

During the next 12 months, generative ai will make big gains. Recent models can easily create realistic images and drawings using a description in a natural language. Capabilities like this move from cool functionality now to real business use cases. Dozens of companies offer you products that can write essays, ads, or love letters. Instead of searching stocks, you can type a query and you will get a new image. And this is just the beginning where we are only scratching the surface of generative voice and video applications. so it will be interesting to see innovations and use cases in the coming year.

Stronger cooperation between business and It teams.
As companies prepare for greater economic volatility in 2023, there will be more pressure to do more with less and to demonstrate Ai’s business value from the beginning. Ai still requires stronger collaboration between business and it to ensure that the technology is truly addressing business issues and needs.
Another trend saw already is the continued push to embrace ai holistically across the organization. Various software and hardware solutionsfrom data models to chips for ai are focused on taking a slice of the lucrative ai pie.

More about artificial intelligence.
Ai will change the efficiency and output of an organization.
As of now, there is a debate about whether Ai will become sentient and pose a threat to humanity, which greatly overestimates its current capabilities. Ai is already capable of many tasks that humans would take thousands of hours to accomplish. Beat chess grandmasters, identify fractures in x-rays, choose the fastest route for a truck, etc. But Ai doesn’t understand how it does this. It cant explain why one move of chess is more strategic than another the way a human could, but it just knows. But Ai solves a huge array of tasks in the workplace and outside.
To maximize its use, we must understand why Ai can do so much, even if it lacks human-like intelligence. Could Ai help legal workers to bill their time faster and more efficiently? I anticipate that more tasks on Ai will lead to step-changes in efficiency and output of teams.

AI-driven and supported automation.
All know the value of automation, and almost everything can be automated in our software-defined world. However, the decision point or trigger for automation is still one of the more complicated elements. But here’s where Ai will come in: Ai can make less brittle decisions more intelligent than automations traditional rules of if-it-then-it.
